Abstract

This work intends to describe the network that culminated with the adoption of the Corporative Interlink Technology of Refricentro, an enterprise specialized in installation and repair of air-conditioners for vehicles with main-office in Bonsucesso, Rio de Janeiro. This technology was a result of the use of freelopen source softwares servers mixed with proprietary software clients, resulting in gains in efficiency, reduction of transaction costs and acquisition of new competences in information technology by the blue-collar workers. The network is developed in tree stories: "A 'Santa' Paola" tells about the conception/adoption of a new information technology for the enterprise while the existing one still worked; "Nasce o RefricentroILinux" relates the break of the tie that supported the information technology referred before in the head-office and its rapid return to work, assisted by the networks of freelopen source softwares; and "Sai Telemar e Entra ... Telemar!" describes the expansion of the network from the head-office of the enterprise to the branch-offices having the justconceived Refricentro-CorporativoILinux as its pillar. The stories are commented based on the Constructive Technology Assessment, by Michell Callon, and in the concepts of the sociotechnical networks, by Bruno Latour and John Law, among other authors. At last, a comparative study is made between the architecture of proprietary softwares, referred by the name "Netware Architecture", and the hybrid architecture of freelopen source and proprietary softwares, referred by the name "GLW Architecture", based on the Transaction Costs and Contracts Theory, coded by onald H. Coase, Oliver Williamson and Victor Prochnik.
