At the Open Data Day Datathon, the Data Science competition team - UFRJ Analytica - won. The theme of the Datathon, inspired by this year's Open Data Day, was about how open data can help in egalitarian development in Brazil.

Created in 2019 on the initiative of Professor Claudio Miceli (PESC - Engenharia de Software, and NCE), it started as a study group aimed at solving data science and machine learning problems, with the aim of participating in competitions in the area . Today, in addition to these activities, UFRJ Analítica also develops projects with an extension character and aimed at solutions in data science.

The team was composed of:
- Pedro Boechat - Computer and Information Engineering (Poli / UFRJ)
- Érica Ferreira - Control and Automation Engineering (Poli / UFRJ)
- Rafael Ribeiro - Electronic and Computer Engineering (Poli / UFRJ)
- Pedro Borges - Recently graduated in Applied Mathematics and accepted in the Graduate Program in Statistics (IM / UFRJ)

Claudio Miceli, team coordinator, says he was proud of the group's hard and dedicated work and recalls that UFRJ Analytica has also been instrumental in supporting the fight against Covid 19, analyzing data and maintaining the official University Dashboard, a panel that monitors Covid 19 in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
