The paper entitled "Ranking Influential and Influenced Shares based on the Transfer Entropy Network" authored by José de Paula Neves Neto (PhD student) and Daniel Ratton Figueiredo (his advisor) received the Best Paper Award at WPerformance 2018. The goal of the paper is to determine stocks that are the most influential and the most influenced in the Brazilian stock market, using a metric known as transfer entropy and a methodology for ranking network nodes.

WPerformance (Workshop on Performance of Computation and Communication Systems) occurs annually, now on its 17th edition, and is a satellite event of the Brazilian Computer Society Congress (CSBC), organized this year in Natal, on July 23-24. In this edition, 52 papers were submitted to WPerformance and 19 were accepted for publication and oral presentation.
