The paper "Gallai's path decomposition conjecture for triangle-free planar graphs" written by Fábio Botler (PESC), together with Maycon Sambinelli (UFABC) and Andrea Jiménez (Universidad de Valparaíso) was included in the Editors' Choice of the journal Discrete Mathematics, which highlighted 17 outstanding articles to demonstrate the breadth and depth of discrete mathematics and combinatorics research.

Discrete Mathematics provides a common forum for significant research in areas such as graph and hypergraph theory, enumeration, coding theory, block designs, the combinatorics of partially ordered sets, extremal set theory, matroid theory, algebraic combinatorics, discrete geometry, matrices, and discrete probability theory.
