Vinícius Garcia Silva da Costa (PESC doctoral student) has just published another article, in a high-impact journal. His thesis articles were published at “Artificial Intelligence Review” impact factor = 12 (2022), “Artificial Intelligence” impact factor = 14 (2024) and “Applied Soft Computing” impact factor = 8.7 (2024).

These articles (details at the end) were published in co-authorship with Professor Carlos Eduardo Pedreira (PESC), his thesis advisor. Two of those also had the participation of Prof. Sancho Salcedo-Sanz, 'Catedrático' at the University of Alcalá in Spain, as well as Pérez-Aracil, a Spanish researcher.

It is very relevant that the article "Recent advances in decision tress: an updated survey", published just a year ago, at the end of 2022, has already obtained 36 citations from other authors according to Google Scholar and 16 according to Web of Science, leaving clear the indisputable impact of the work.

Vinícius entered the PESC Master's degree in 2020 and in June 2021, taking into account his exceptional performance in the first year, he was directly transferred to the Doctorate, that will be concluded in 2024. He spent a year in a 'sandwich program' in Spain with a CAPES PrInt scholarship.

Without a doubt, a success story.
